Puccias02: contemporary design blends with italian tradition
In the bustling heart of Madrid, where the culinary scene is constantly evolving, Puccias02 emerges as more than just a dining spot—it’s a sensory experience. This new addition to the capital pays tribute to the cuisine of southern Italy with an avant-garde design that masterfully balances tradition with a bold visual language.
Behind this project are Stefano Colli and Carles Novell, two creative minds who have successfully transported the essence of Puglia into a contemporary and captivating setting. The design of Puccias02 follows the visual identity crafted by Sin_titulo_1, the studio of Xabier Isasti, where one material and one colour take centre stage: vibrant orange, lending the space an unmistakable pop aesthetic.
Handcrafted Puccias and a live culinary experience
At the heart of Puccias02 are, of course, its puccias—crispy sandwiches made fresh with sourdough and filled with the authentic flavours of Italy. More than just fast food, here, dining becomes a ritual. The space is designed to enhance this experience, with a central counter allowing guests to witness the preparation of each sandwich firsthand, immersing them in an atmosphere where simplicity and sophistication are seamlessly intertwined.
A space designed like a photography studio
From its very conception, Puccias02 was envisioned as a visually striking project. According to its creators, light plays a fundamental role—abundant and diffused through a false ceiling reminiscent of a photography studio. This effect creates a clean, almost aseptic atmosphere that enhances the materiality of the space.

The interior design embraces a minimalist aesthetic with references to familiar imagery: walls clad in orange rubber, raw-toned metal furniture, and stainless steel counters.
Iconic design elements reinforce the venue’s identity, such as the Nessino lamps by Giancarlo Mattioli, Teti wall lights by Vico Magistretti (Artemide), Jamaica stools by Pepe Cortés (BD), and Splügen pendant lamps by Achille Castiglioni (Flos).
The beauty of the everyday: a design philosophy
One of the most fascinating aspects of Puccias02 is its ability to elevate everyday objects, transforming simple, functional elements into something almost artistic.
A clear example is the metal chain curtain that separates the service area—a feature commonly found in traditional bars—reinterpreted with a sophisticated and contemporary vision.
