Casa Musica: the symphony between architecture and sound created by Estudio Diir

At number 22 San Mateo Street, in the heart of Madrid, Casa Musica opens its doors as the latest venture from Casa Neutrale. Designed by Estudio Diir, this space represents an evolution in the exploration of concepts that the brand has been developing in its previous projects: after coffee, gastronomy, and wine, music now takes centre stage.

An experience where music and architecture converge

Casa Musica is more than just a restaurant—it is a sensory haven, designed to immerse visitors in music within a meticulously crafted architectural setting. From its inception, Estudio Diir aimed to create an intimate atmosphere where every architectural solution enhances sound quality.

“Casa Musica is a sensory haven, designed to immerse visitors in music within a meticulously crafted architectural setting.”

The materiality of the space plays a crucial role in this experience. Stacked concrete blocks form the main volumes of the design, including bars, benches, and other structural elements. This choice not only defines the venue’s aesthetic identity but also contributes to the absorption and distribution of sound, creating a unique acoustic environment.

A balance between industrial and warm elements

While concrete brings solidity and cohesion, it is the combination of complementary materials that truly brings the space to life. Dark wood clads the benches and frames the DJ booth, while an imposing stone table bridges the openings facing the street. Steel details introduce a touch of sophistication, and the ceiling surfaces, coated in dark cellulose, create a cavernous, enveloping, and almost mystical sensation.

Two levels, two experiences

Casa Musica is divided into two levels, offering distinct yet interconnected experiences. The ground floor hosts an evening restaurant where diners are welcomed into a harmonious and refined setting.

Its culinary offering focuses on modern, carefully curated cuisine, featuring fresh ingredients and a selection of dishes designed to complement the sensory experience of the space.

Downstairs, the space transforms into a sanctuary for music, where architecture shapes a unique atmosphere for sonic immersion.

In this lower level, guests can enjoy expertly crafted cocktails and a curated wine list, perfectly complementing the nocturnal experience.

A new milestone in the evolution of Casa Neutrale

With Casa Musica, Casa Neutrale reaffirms its ability to innovate in the creation of multisensory experiences. As in its previous projects, the brand is committed to a clear and coherent narrative, where architectural design is not merely an accompaniment but the fundamental vehicle for conveying emotions.

Once again, Estudio Diir demonstrates its expertise in conceptualising spaces that transcend aesthetics and enter the realm of sensory perception, making Casa Musica a must-visit destination for lovers of music, design, and gastronomy in Madrid.
