3daysofdesign 2026: when the present becomes purpose
Once again, Copenhagen is preparing to become the international epicentre of design as it welcomes a new edition of 3daysofdesign. In 2026, the festival returns to bring together designers, brands, creative studios, and design lovers from around the world. But this year, the proposal goes beyond shapes and functions: it invites us to pause, observe, and create with meaning.
Under the theme “Make This Moment Matter”, this new edition shines a spotlight on the present as the only truly valuable moment. A clear statement of intent brought to life through a vibrant programme, evocative visual identity, and a deeply human, conscious approach to design.
What makes design matter? How do we define purpose in a world saturated with stimuli, trends, and constant change? 3daysofdesign 2026 responds with a clear message: make this moment count.
This year’s theme stems from a reflection on the nature of time and design’s role within it. While many look to the past with nostalgia or to the future with speculation, the real strength — as the festival reminds us — lies in the present. It is here, in this very instant, that change happens, legacies are built, and transformative ideas are born.

“Make This Moment Matter is a positive form of empowerment — an invitation to create with purpose, with intention, with meaning. We have the ability to make a difference. We just need to act.” Signe Byrdal Terenziani, CEO & Managing Director of 3daysofdesign
Impactful design: beyond aesthetics
This isn’t just a philosophical stance. It translates into tangible actions: choosing sustainable materials, creating spaces that promote wellbeing, fostering local communities, telling stories that resonate. Design can no longer be content with merely occupying space — it must have a reason to exist.
For Terenziani — the visionary behind the festival since its inception in 2013 — the aim is to turn design into a tool for transformation: not just aesthetically, but also socially and culturally.

A visual identity that embraces time
Each year, 3daysofdesign unveils a new visual identity aligned with the festival theme. For the 2026 edition, the creative direction has been entrusted to Copenhagen-based studio On Display. Founded in 2025 by Anders Gerning, Marie Heissel, and Tor S. Johannesen, this multidisciplinary collective operates at the intersection of graphic design, creative direction, and visual storytelling.
For “Make This Moment Matter”, they have created a poetic, conceptual image: a still life featuring a black lily in a glass vase, overlaid with an Origami Teller — the familiar folded paper form that holds questions and hidden answers. The piece captures the tension between stillness and motion, between past and future, evoking both mystery and the power of the now.
“For us, this year’s theme is an invitation to find balance between being fully present and being aware of how our choices impact the world around us. 3daysofdesign has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that we deeply admire.” On Display
A festival with soul
What sets 3daysofdesign apart from other international design events is its essence: more dialogue, less commercial noise. This is a festival that values quality over quantity, where the visitor’s experience, authentic discovery, and cross-disciplinary conversation take centre stage.
It’s a decentralised celebration, with events spread across the city — showrooms, galleries, studios, public spaces — allowing visitors to experience Copenhagen through the lens of its creative ecosystem.
Each edition brings together more than 500 brands and designers and welcomes thousands of international guests, confirming its place as Denmark’s most important design event and one of Europe’s most influential creative platforms.
Copenhagen: where context is everything
Hosting this festival in Copenhagen is no coincidence. The city, renowned for its model of urban sustainability, social innovation, and excellence in Scandinavian design, offers the perfect backdrop for a celebration that invites us to rethink our relationship with objects, spaces, and time.
Here, design is not just a trend — it’s a cultural value. It’s part of everyday life, from public transport to home interiors. It’s part of the identity. And 3daysofdesign is the mirror that reflects this philosophy to the world.
Make This Moment Matter: a personal invitation
Beyond the festival, “Make This Moment Matter” is a personal manifesto. It speaks to us as creators, as consumers, and as citizens. It reminds us that every choice matters — that the present is not just a passage, but a fertile space for action.
“Make This Moment Matter reminds us that every choice matters — that the present is not just a passage, but a fertile space for action.”
In a world that often pushes us to create for the sake of creating, 3daysofdesign proposes something different: to create with intention. To design by listening. To craft with responsibility.
