“Casa Quatro” by The Addresses: a gem in the Portuguese Algarve
The Belgian firm The Addresses continues its expansion in the south of Portugal with the opening of Casa Quatro. This new retreat, located in the peaceful village of São Brás de Alportel, with its minimalist aesthetic and Mediterranean soul, reaffirms the brand’s philosophy: to offer exclusive experiences that blend design, authenticity, and absolute comfort.

Casa Quatro: Modernity and Tradition in Perfect Harmony
Casa Quatro reinterprets the essence of traditional Algarve architecture through a contemporary, serene, and timeless lens. The intervention, both respectful and meticulous, preserves the soul of the original building —whitewashed walls, inner courtyards, understated structures— while incorporating clean lines, noble materials such as stone, natural wood and wrought iron, and a soft, earthy colour palette that harmonises with the surrounding landscape.
“Casa Quatro reinterprets the essence of traditional Algarve architecture.”
The result is a space that blends the memory of the place with a refined contemporary design, where formal simplicity becomes an expression of quiet sophistication.

Casa Quatro offers three bedrooms designed as intimate retreats, each bathed in natural light and visually connected to the outdoors. A spacious, minimalist-inspired living room invites contemplation and relaxation, while the open-plan kitchen —refined in style yet fully functional— becomes a perfect hub for sharing moments.
Outside, a private pool surrounded by native vegetation and several terraces invite guests to enjoy outdoor living in a setting that exudes tranquillity. From every corner, there is a subtle balance between interior and exterior, architecture and nature.

Located far from the Algarve’s more frequented routes, Casa Quatro proposes a new way of travelling —one that prioritises connection with the surroundings, authenticity, and beauty in its most essential form. A space where design does not seek to dominate, but rather to accompany a deeper experience of life, inviting disconnection, inspiration, and conscious enjoyment.
São Brás de Alportel: Pure Algarvian Authenticity
In the heart of the Algarve’s most authentic region, far from the bustling tourist hotspots of the coast, lies São Brás de Alportel —a charming village that has preserved the soul of southern Portugal intact. Surrounded by gentle hills, almond groves, cork oaks and centuries-old olive trees, this destination is a true haven of tranquillity where time seems to stand still.
For centuries, São Brás de Alportel was one of the country’s main cork production centres, a legacy still felt today in its traditional architecture and the warmth of its local community. Strolling through its cobbled streets is an invitation to discover whitewashed houses, colourful markets, small family-run taverns, and village squares where daily life unfolds at the unhurried pace of the Portuguese interior.
It is in this privileged setting that Casa Quatro, the latest gem from The Addresses, is located. From here, travellers can access a different Algarve —less known, more authentic. A short distance away, one can explore wild golden-sand beaches, historic whitewashed villages, and a refined network of gastronomic routes where traditional cuisine takes centre stage.
Casa Quatro offers not only an elegant and serene retreat but also the perfect starting point to immerse oneself in a region rich in landscapes, flavours and traditions. A place to discover the true soul of the Algarve —and to fully experience it.

A new stop on The Addresses’ sensory journey
Since its inception, The Addresses has redefined the concept of contemporary hospitality, embracing a hybrid format that combines the intimacy of a private home, the attentive service of a boutique hotel, and the aesthetic sensibility of an art gallery. Each of its properties offers far more than just accommodation —they propose a way of travelling that places authenticity, design and sensory experience at the centre.

“A way of travelling that places authenticity, design and sensory experience at the centre.”
At Casa Quatro, this philosophy reaches new heights of excellence. The house has been carefully curated with furnishings by contemporary European designers —timeless pieces that harmonise beautifully with local artworks and Portuguese handcrafted elements.
Every object, texture and tone has been chosen to create a coherent, understated and deeply evocative visual narrative.

Moreover, The Addresses complements the experience with a range of personalised services that allow guests to immerse themselves in Algarvian culture at their own pace: culinary recommendations that reveal the region’s hidden gastronomic treasures, tailor-made experiences ranging from hiking trails to private boat excursions, or the possibility of enjoying relaxing massages and handpicked cultural activities.
Each stay at Casa Quatro thus becomes an emotional and sensory journey —a direct connection with the landscape, the traditions, and the most genuine essence of southern Portugal. Here, visitors don’t just rest —they discover, feel, and transform, embracing the unhurried rhythm and quiet beauty of an Algarve that still holds secrets waiting to be explored.
The Addresses: Rediscovering Portugal Through Homes with Soul
The Addresses was founded in 2021 by Bert Jeuris and Ludovic Beun, two passionate admirers of Portugal.
After years of nurturing their love for the country, they decided to share their vision with like-minded travellers.
With a strong background in the wine industry —Bert has long been selecting Portugal’s finest wines for top Belgian restaurants through The Portugal Collection— and in the creative sector —Ludovic works as a creative director in the music and entertainment industry— they joined forces, having also founded The Madeira Collection, an exclusive selection of vintage Madeira wines.

At The Addresses, their philosophy is clear: to restore unique, characterful houses in exceptional locations and transform them into holiday homes where luxury is expressed through simplicity and refined taste. Each project becomes a celebration of timeless design, genuine hospitality, and attention to detail.

More than just places to stay, their homes —whether nestled in the heart of a former fishing village, surrounded by orange groves, or steps away from golden-sand beaches— are true gateways to the most authentic side of Portugal.
In addition to exquisite interiors and serene atmospheres, they offer bespoke services that elevate the experience: private transport, reservations at local restaurants, soothing massages, cultural itineraries, hiking or cycling excursions, and even boat trips to deserted islands. All this is accompanied by a carefully curated guide of must-visit addresses, designed to connect guests with the soul of the country.

As previously mentioned, Casa Quatro now joins this select collection of unique homes, reaffirming The Addresses as one of the most inspiring boutique projects in Europe.
