MOGO: Milan’s new temple of the senses

Modern Japanese cuisine, signature cocktails and Hi-Fi sound in a bold design setting: the new must-visit destination in Milan.

A new gathering place in the design capital

In the heart of the dynamic Isola district—one of the most energetic corners of modern Milan—MOGO Hi-Fi Bar & Dining has arrived, an immersive venue that’s rewriting the rules of going out, socialising and savouring. MOGO isn’t just a restaurant, a bar or a club. It’s all of them, and more: it’s a true listening space.

The name MOGO is derived from the South African word “Mmogo”, meaning “together”. It perfectly captures the essence of the concept: a place created for connection, for shared experiences, and for sensorial pleasure in all its forms.

Design: a stage for the senses

Inspired by Japan’s legendary Jazz Kissa listening bars, MOGO channels that philosophy of mindful listening while embracing a contemporary, industrial and atmospheric design language. The 400 m² space was conceived by Giorgia Longoni Studio and features a luminous, transformable ceiling that changes the entire ambience—bright and fresh by day, intimate and golden-toned by night.

The material palette speaks of contrast and texture: deep-blue floors, exposed wood, steel accents, raw textiles, aged velvet and washi paper. Terracotta and aquamarine hues flow over tactile surfaces, while a mossy carpet invites guests to go barefoot in the private lounge. Andrea Marco Corvino’s site-specific artworks and a bespoke DJ booth elevate the space with artistic purpose.

Cuisine: modern Japan with an international twist

The culinary direction is led by renowned chef Yoji Tokuyoshi, a key figure in Milan’s food scene. Known for projects such as Bentoteca, Katsusanderia and Pan, Tokuyoshi brings to MOGO a creative yet approachable take on Japanese cuisine, enriched with global influences.

Seasonal ingredients, refined techniques and clean flavours define the menu, which also features weekday business lunches, weekend brunches and an elegant evening service. MOGO’s sourcing ethos mirrors the chef’s other projects—quality, consistency and innovation come first.

Cocktails: a 360º bar at the heart

At the centre of the venue is a striking 360-degree circular bar, the pulsing heart of MOGO. It serves classic and signature cocktails alongside a carefully curated selection of natural and organic wines.

For connoisseurs, the bar also boasts a wide selection of Japanese whiskies, Scotch, mezcal, gin and sake—offering a full spectrum of flavours and experiences. This is not just a place to drink; it’s a place to discover.

Music: a next-generation listening bar

Sound is at the core of the MOGO experience. The venue is equipped with a handcrafted Hi-Fi system, delivering audiophile-quality sound that invites guests to truly listen. No background noise here—only curated music to be felt and appreciated.

Musical programming is overseen by Polifonic—one of Europe’s most respected electronic music festivals—and BSR (Burro Studio Records). Expect exclusive performances by both Italian and international artists in a setting that elevates sound to art.

An experience beyond walls

MOGO also features a rooftop terrace and an inner courtyard, extending the sensory experience outdoors. Ideal for enjoying a cocktail under the stars or hosting a private gathering.

Additionally, the venue includes a 600 m² multi-functional space, fully equipped to host corporate events, cultural activations, or private parties. It’s a flexible canvas for creative expression.

Collective talent, singular vision

MOGO is the result of a visionary collaboration. With interior design by Giorgia Longoni, artistic elements by Andrea Corvino, culinary direction by Tokuyoshi and operations by Alice Yamada—alongside the creative forces of Burro Studio and the sound curation of Polifonic—the space embodies a language of innovation, authenticity and emotion.

MOGO Milano: a new urban ritual

MOGO is more than a restaurant, bar or listening venue. It’s an urban ritual—a hybrid cultural experience for those seeking something deeper than the typical night out. In a city where design is a way of life and creativity is currency, MOGO sets a new standard.

Highly recommended.
