Night Landscapes: art, architecture and emotion<\/h6>\n

With this year\u2019s theme, “Night Landscapes”<\/em>, the festival invites the public to experience the city at night through a poetic, sensorial and imaginative lens. For three evenings \u2014 from 7 pm to midnight on Friday and Saturday, and from 7 pm to 11 pm on Sunday \u2014 visitors can explore around 30 light installations, mostly outdoors and free to access, created by twelve renowned national and international artists, alongside eighteen university schools of art, design and architecture based in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis edition will feature 12 installations by acclaimed artists, along with 18 proposals from university schools.\u201d<\/h2>\n

Directed by Maria G\u00fcell <\/em>\u2014 who bids farewell to the festival this year \u2014 and with international curation by Birgit Lill-Schnabl<\/em>, director of Austria\u2019s Klanglicht festival<\/em><\/a>, Llum BCN<\/em> will feature works by prominent names such as filmmaker Albert Serra<\/em>, with Esta noche<\/em> (sponsored by ISE<\/em>); artist Laia Estruch<\/em>, with A\u00fcc<\/em> (in collaboration with Benito <\/em>and Barcelona 2026<\/em>); and the creative duo STUDIO MO:YA <\/em><\/a>\u2014 Roland Mariacher <\/em>and Werner Huber<\/em> \u2014 with Mantra Intervention<\/em>, in partnership with BARCO<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Three routes, three service zones, and a city to discover<\/h6>\n

To make the experience more accessible, the festival offers three themed itineraries connected via the T4 Tram line, guiding visitors between key creative hubs such as the DHub<\/em>, MediaTIC<\/em>, and the Parc del Centre del Poblenou. In addition, three service areas have been set up with rest zones, food stalls, toilets, and information points: on Irena Sendler Street, Roc Boronat Street, and within the Parc del Centre del Poblenou.<\/p>\n

New works, new spaces, and returning favourites<\/h6>\n

Among this year\u2019s highlights:<\/p>\n

– “Bulla”<\/em> by Lola Solanilla<\/em>, at the new space in Parc de les Gl\u00f2ries.<\/p>\n

– “The Whispering Mountains”<\/em>, inflatable sculptures by ENESS<\/em>.<\/p>\n

– “Fremor”<\/em> by Marc Vilanova<\/em>, exploring subterranean vibrations.<\/p>\n

– “The Rhythm of the Ocean”<\/em> by Desilence<\/em>, featuring music by Suzanne Ciani<\/em>.<\/p>\n

– “Postmachina”<\/em> by Cl\u00e0udia Raurell<\/em>, a pulsating light and movement experience.<\/p>\n

– “Aurelius” on Tour<\/em> by nueveojos<\/em>, a roaming light installation inspired by the Tour de France<\/em>, travelling through Almog\u00e0vers Street and Pla\u00e7a de Dolors Piera.<\/p>\n

The programme also revives memorable installations from previous editions, including “L\u00e1ser Fases”<\/em> by Antoni Arola<\/em> (at Mirador Torre Gl\u00f2ries<\/em>), “Sierras”<\/em> by cabosanroque<\/em>, and “Next Nature II” <\/em>by Rotor Studio<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A new image for a new vision<\/h6>\n

The festival\u2019s graphic identity this year has been created by DAQ Studio<\/em><\/a>, offering a dreamlike and ethereal visual world where light becomes a dynamic force that transforms space. The aim: to convey the emotional and subjective power of light, inviting audiences into a new way of perceiving the city through visual contemplation and immersive design.<\/p>\n

+Llum, World Capital of Architecture and Llum BCN Pro<\/h6>\n

Alongside the main programme, Llum BCN<\/em> also features:<\/p>\n

– +Llum<\/em>, with three additional installations: “Mem\u00f2ria I Llum”<\/em> by the Institut Tecnol\u00f2gic d\u2019Arts Esc\u00e8niques de Barcelona<\/em>; Alrededor<\/em> by Gracias Grecia<\/em>; and “Inspired in Barcelona: Luce”<\/em> by Stefano Colli <\/em>and Carles Novell<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

– 10 site-specific light installations across all ten districts of Barcelona, part of the Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture<\/em> initiative, featuring works by artists such as Toni Mira<\/em>, Sacude Danza<\/em>, Xavi Bob\u00e9<\/em>, Bayona Studio<\/em> and MID Studio<\/em>.<\/p>\n

– Llum BCN Pro<\/em>, the festival\u2019s professional gathering for cultural agents, curators and artists, held on 6 and 7 February and coordinated by Ant\u00f2nia Folguera<\/em>.<\/p>\n
