Located in the heart of Paris, the Bourse de Commerce<\/em> \u2013 refurbished by Tadao Ando<\/em>, master of architectural minimalism \u2013 functions here not merely as a container, but as an active part of the experience. The circular form, exposed materials, natural light and slow-paced flow of the space all align with the exhibition\u2019s philosophy: less is, in truth, much more.<\/p>\n

The exhibition features key figures of the minimalist movement such as Donald Judd<\/em>, Agnes Martin<\/em>, Robert Morris<\/em>, Dan Flavin<\/em>, Carl Andre<\/em>, On Kawara<\/em>, and Charlotte Posenenske<\/em>, whose pieces laid the foundations of this refined, repetitive and deeply structured visual language.<\/p>\n

Alongside them are works by contemporary artists who have revisited, expanded or challenged that legacy: Roni Horn<\/em>, Mona Hatoum<\/em>, Sherrie Levine<\/em>, Steve McQueen<\/em>, Felix Gonzalez-Torres<\/em>, David Hammons<\/em> and Toyo Ito<\/em>, among others.<\/p>\n

The light installations of Dan Flavin<\/em>, the material structures of Donald Judd<\/em>, and the spatial folds in the works of Agnes Martin<\/em> and Roni Horn<\/em> reveal a vibration that only fully activates in the presence of the viewer\u2019s body.<\/p>\n

As part of the Bourse de Commerce<\/em>\u2019s multidisciplinary approach, the exhibition is accompanied by an extraordinary cultural programme that amplifies and extends the exhibition through music, dance, film and spoken word.<\/p>\n

Highlighted Concerts: When Sound Becomes Form<\/u><\/p>\n

Immanuel Wilkins<\/strong> (10 October): The American saxophonist performed a solo in dialogue with Meg Webster<\/em>\u2019s installation, transforming the museum\u2019s rotunda into a space of sonic meditation.<\/p>\n

Ganavya<\/strong> (11 October): The New York-based vocalist offered a fusion of spiritual jazz, ambient and South Indian ragas, exploring the non-Western roots of musical minimalism.<\/p>\n

Ensemble Intercontemporain<\/strong> (22 & 23 October): Iconic works by Steve Reich<\/em>, Philip Glass<\/em>, Pauline Oliveros<\/em> and Caroline Shaw <\/em>resonated with power and elegance in the auditorium.<\/p>\n

Ellen Arkbro<\/strong> (26 October): The Swedish composer presented two new pieces in collaboration with cellist Judith Hamann<\/em> and bassoonist Dafne Vicente-Sandoval<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Performance as an Expansion of Gesture<\/u><\/p>\n

One of the programme\u2019s highlights is the reactivation of Lucinda Childs\u2019 Street Dance<\/em> (1964), an iconic piece not re-staged since the 1960s. The performance transforms Gallery 4<\/em> into a time capsule connecting dance, urban landscape, and the body as a critical tool.<\/p>\n

Time as artistic material<\/u><\/p>\n

One of the programme\u2019s most moving moments is the full-day reading of One Million Years by On Kawara<\/em> (15 November), where two human voices recite past and future dates throughout the day. A hypnotic experience that confronts us with the scale of time, its fragility, and our relationship with the infinite.<\/p>\n

Also featured are sound installations such as Electronic Music<\/em> (1965\u201366) by Pauline Oliveros<\/em> in Gallery 7<\/em>, and Drumming<\/em> (1971) by Steve Reich<\/em> in Gallery 6<\/em>, both played continuously throughout the exhibition, creating an immersive environment.<\/p>\n

With its monumental glass dome, circular layout and the subtle yet powerful intervention by Tadao Ando<\/em>, the Bourse de Commerce<\/em> becomes the ideal setting for this exhibition.
