The reopening comes hand-in-hand with the launch of the Charles & Ray Eames Foundation<\/em>, an institution founded by the family with the aim of preserving, expanding and projecting the Eames<\/em> legacy towards new generations. The goal is not only to safeguard the architecture of the house or its archives, but also to activate an international ecosystem of collections, museums and educational programmes that keep their multidisciplinary spirit alive.<\/p>\n

The Eameses<\/em> were far more than architects or designers of iconic furniture. They were philosophers of making, visual storytellers, tireless educators and pioneers in understanding design as a tool to improve the world. That vision is reflected today in the ambitious agenda of the new foundation: exhibitions, workshops, research grants, new publications and educational initiatives that will connect the work of Charles<\/em> and Ray<\/em> with today\u2019s global challenges.<\/p>\n

Among the most notable projects is the creation of an international research fellowship that will explore their thinking from a contemporary perspective; the launch of a dedicated programme on their architectural work\u2014focusing on prefabricated and sustainable housing; and the revival of influential projects such as Powers of Ten<\/em>, which turns 50 in 2027 and will be revisited for new audiences. Additionally, for the first time, the Norton Lectures<\/em> that Charles<\/em> gave at Harvard will be published\u2014a key insight into his design philosophy.<\/p>\n

This new chapter will be led by a board that includes the five Eames<\/em> grandchildren, alongside international experts from the design world. Cultural executive Adrienne Luce<\/em> has been appointed director, with the mission of establishing the foundation as a global point of reference. As Charles Eames<\/em> once said, “Eventually, everything connects”<\/em>: this phrase now guides the ambition to build a global network of dialogue around the duo\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n

The reopening of the Eames House<\/em>, having survived the fires that threatened its integrity, symbolises more than architectural restoration. It is also a gesture of resilience and continuity\u2014a reaffirmation that spaces fuelled by creativity can always be reborn.<\/p>\n

Today, visitors will not only be able to walk through the iconic glass-walled living room, but also enter the studio where their bold experiments with materials, colour and form took shape. To step inside is, in a way, to step into the minds of Charles<\/em> and Ray<\/em>.<\/p>\n

With this new phase, the Eames House<\/em> becomes more than a site of memory: it evolves into a living laboratory for the future, in dialogue with institutions around the world such as MoMA<\/em>, the Vitra Design Museum<\/em> and the Library of Congress. Its reopening and the creation of the foundation mark a turning point in the way we understand the legacy of great creators: not as static museum pieces, but as seeds capable of inspiring new generations of designers, architects, artists and thinkers.<\/p>\n

Over seventy years after its construction, the Eames House<\/em> continues to remind us that good design is not limited to objects, but extends to how we inhabit the world. And reopening its doors is not just an architectural event, but a reminder that, indeed, everything is connected.<\/p>\n
