{"id":90050,"date":"2025-07-30T18:32:35","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T18:32:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/?p=90050"},"modified":"2025-10-13T04:58:38","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T04:58:38","slug":"la-nave-in-la-pau-a-project-by-atienza-maure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/en\/la-nave-in-la-pau-a-project-by-atienza-maure\/","title":{"rendered":"La Nave in La Pau, a project by Atienza Maure"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6 data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">An industrial gem on the outskirts of Barcelona<\/h6>\n<p>Not far from <em>Les Tres Xemeneies<\/em>, the iconic chimneys that still echo the industrial past of Sant Adri\u00e0 de Bes\u00f2s, and just minutes from the now gentrified Poblenou district, lies a project that challenges the traditional codes of architectural rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<p>On the fourth floor of a party-wall industrial building, a former printing workshop has been transformed into a hybrid space that houses both the headquarters of the company <em>Giagchico<\/em> and the home of its founders,<em> Agust\u00edn Iglesias<\/em> and <em>Giulia Amos<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The intervention, signed by the Barcelona-based studio <a href=\"https:\/\/atienzamaure.com\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Atienza Maure<\/em><\/a> alongside Iglesias himself and his brother <em>Abel<\/em>, was based on a clear premise: to create a place to live and work on a tight budget of just \u20ac380\/m\u00b2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-89918 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SimoneMarcolin_AtienzaMaure_LaPau_8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1125\" height=\"1500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SimoneMarcolin_AtienzaMaure_LaPau_8.jpg 1125w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SimoneMarcolin_AtienzaMaure_LaPau_8-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SimoneMarcolin_AtienzaMaure_LaPau_8-319x425.jpg 319w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SimoneMarcolin_AtienzaMaure_LaPau_8-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1125px) 100vw, 1125px\" \/><\/p>\n<h6>Tight budget: prefabrication strategy and self-build logic<\/h6>\n<p>Far from a conventional refurbishment, the project stands as an experimental on-site assembly strategy. Unable to open new windows or rooflights, the architects proposed a predominantly open layout. Plywood partitions and intermediate wooden platforms enhance the warmth of the whole.<\/p>\n<h6>Playful domesticity and earthy materiality<\/h6>\n<p>In contrast to the rationality of the work area, the domestic space embraces a more open and playful atmosphere. Against minimalist trends that often conceal the technical, <em>Atienza Maure<\/em> opts for the opposite: to reveal, celebrate and contrast them with the warmth of solid forms. Here, technique is not hidden but celebrated.
