Following the opening of Le Grand H\u00f4tel Cayr\u00e9<\/em> in Paris, Borneta<\/em> has become the second European launch of Miiro<\/em>, the new lifestyle hotel chain.<\/p>\n

Located on the evocative Passeig de Picasso, Borneta<\/em> offers its guests a unique experience. From its stone facade, carefully preserved and restored, to its interiors bathed in natural light filtering through large windows, the hotel achieves an almost perfect balance between tradition and modernity.<\/p>\n

Among its many charms, Borneta<\/em>\u2019s appeal lies not only in its unbeatable location but also in its attentive and friendly service, along with its refreshed aesthetic in collaboration with James Thurstan Waterworth<\/em>, founder of Thurstan<\/em>. Here, attention to detail is more than evident, reflecting the dedication of its creators to offering a stay that combines comfort, style, and an immersive cultural experience.<\/p>\n

A design that respects history<\/h6>\n

The design of Borneta<\/em> has been developed in collaboration with the Barcelona-based studio Heres Arquitectura<\/em>, who have worked to preserve the building\u2019s original elements, such as wooden beams and stone walls, while incorporating a modern and welcoming aesthetic.<\/p>\n

Each of the 92 rooms and suites has been individually designed, yet all share the same warm minimalism, creating a space to unwind after a day exploring the bustling streets of El Born<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As you can see in the images, the design draws inspiration from the rich color palette of the city and incorporates materials like linen and wood, which perfectly complement works by local artists and furniture pieces that pay tribute to Barcelona\u2019s artisanal history.<\/p>\n

Volta: the heart and soul of Borneta<\/h6>\n

Volta<\/em> isn\u2019t just the hotel\u2019s restaurant; it\u2019s the heart and soul of Borneta<\/em>. Its culinary concept focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients and reinvented traditional recipes, providing a genuinely local experience in a sophisticated, relaxed setting.<\/p>\n

The menu is divided into four sections: “Starting the Route”<\/em>, “Raw”<\/em>, “Km0”<\/em> and “Sea and Land”<\/em>. Signature dishes include Fine Claire n.2<\/em> oysters in tempura with citrus vinaigrette gel; organic egg with potato foam, parmesan, Jerusalem artichoke, and truffle; seabass tartare with cucumber, avocado, capers, and beetroot; ossobuco; Volta<\/em> baba ganoush with zucchini, confit tomato, and ricotta salata; tomato and nectarine salad with halloumi, hazelnuts, and honey-mustard vinaigrette; or culurgiones with pecorino, potato, mint, and truffle.<\/p>\n

Its expansive terrace, nestled under the iconic arches of Porxos de Fontser\u00e9, is ideal for enjoying chef Andrea de Benedictis<\/em>\u2019 creations. Each dish is inspired by the intense flavors of Spain, Italy, France, and North Africa, crafted with the finest local ingredients from small organic producers.<\/p>\n

Next to the restaurant is Volta Bar<\/em>, a skylit space perfect for enjoying a drink. Cocktail lovers will be thrilled with the menu\u2019s creative combinations.<\/p>\n

The hotel also aims to connect with the neighborhood’s culture, organizing activities and events ranging from art and design exhibitions to intimate concerts by local musicians.<\/p>\n
