For hiking enthusiasts, a visit to Dyrehaven<\/em> is a must. Also known as the “Deer Park”, Dyrehaven<\/em> is an expansive natural park located north of Copenhagen, near the town of Klampenborg<\/em>. It\u2019s renowned for its vast wooded areas, open meadows, and, as the name suggests, its large population of deer that roam freely throughout the park. This space is popular for walking, cycling, and horseback riding, as well as outdoor recreational activities.<\/p>\n

Dyrehaven<\/em> is also home to the famous Bakken Amusement Park<\/em>, the world\u2019s oldest operating amusement park. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/em> and closely tied to the Danish outdoor lifestyle, with locals visiting to enjoy the natural surroundings and tranquility. It\u2019s also a historic site, as it was originally established as a royal hunting ground in the 17th century. We visited it on a spectacularly sunny day and were in awe of its magnificence.<\/p>\n

Elsinore: the setting of Shakespeare\u2019s Hamlet and a UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/h6>\n

Elsinore<\/em>, or Helsing\u00f8r<\/em> in Danish, is a coastal town that has gone down in history as the setting for William Shakespeare<\/em>\u2019s famous tragedy Hamlet<\/em>. Located on the shores of the \u00d8resund Strait<\/em>, Elsinore<\/em> is also renowned for its imposing Kronborg Castle<\/em>, a Renaissance fortress and UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/em>. This castle is not only an architectural gem but also a literary symbol, attracting thousands of tourists and theater lovers every year.<\/p>\n

As with much of Denmark, the Copenhagen Coast<\/em> is a prime example of sustainability and environmental respect. Arken: one of the leading artistic hubs in Denmark and Europe<\/h6>\n

Hotels and must-visit hotspots<\/h6>\n

For this journey, we chose to stay in Copenhagen. We spent a few days at the Kong Arthur Hotel<\/em> and others at Audo Residence<\/em>. From there, we traveled to the coast using public transport, as this area is well connected from Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

Silo:<\/strong> Located on the 17th floor of The Silo<\/em> in the northern harbor area of Copenhagen, the building itself is quite an impressive architectural piece that also houses some of the capital’s most exclusive apartments. Restaurant Silo<\/em> boasts stunning panoramic views and offers both lunch and dinner with a menu that changes with the seasons and the chef’s mood. Highly recommended!<\/p>\n

H\u00f8st:<\/strong> An outstanding example of contemporary Nordic cuisine, where tradition meets innovation in a cozy and elegant atmosphere. With an interior design that combines the warmth of natural materials with a minimalist touch, H\u00f8st<\/em> provides a dining experience that celebrates local and seasonal ingredients, reflecting the richness of the Danish landscape. Its regularly changing menu features creative dishes that highlight the freshness and quality of the products, often accompanied by carefully selected wine pairings. The restaurant’s commitment to sustainability and respect for nature is evident in every bite, making H\u00f8st<\/em> a must-visit destination for food lovers seeking an authentic immersion in Danish culinary culture.<\/p>\n

B\u00e6st:<\/strong> Located in the lively N\u00f8rrebro<\/em> district, this restaurant has earned a prominent place in the Danish culinary scene thanks to its bold and sustainable approach to Italian cuisine. Founded by renowned chef Christian Puglisi<\/em>, it is famous for its artisanal pizzas made with long-fermented dough and baked in a wood-fired oven, giving them a unique and authentic flavor. Many of its ingredients come from its own farm and local producers, ensuring freshness and quality. Delicious!<\/p>\n

Lido:<\/strong> This restaurant offers dishes that combine fresh, seasonal ingredients with vibrant and creative flavors. The relaxed and cozy atmosphere, complemented by its modern and bright design, makes it a perfect place to enjoy a delicious coffee with a handmade pastry or lunch.<\/p>\n

Juno:<\/strong> Considered the best bakery in Copenhagen, it\u2019s always a must-visit. Everything is delicious!<\/p>\n

Nr.30 Spisested & Vinbar:<\/strong> Located in the vibrant Vesterbro district, it has become a must-visit destination for food and wine lovers. This cozy restaurant and wine bar, with a warm and contemporary atmosphere, offers a menu that celebrates the flavors of Nordic cuisine, using fresh, local ingredients that change with the seasons. Nr.30<\/em>‘s culinary offerings stand out for their focus on simple yet carefully crafted dishes, inviting guests to savor each bite in a relaxed environment. Additionally, the extensive wine list, which includes options from sustainable and biodynamic producers, allows diners to find the perfect pairing for each dish.<\/p>\n

On the Coast of Copenhagen:<\/p>\n

Brede Spisehus<\/strong>, located in the historic town of Brede<\/em> on the outskirts of Copenhagen, is a charming restaurant that combines Danish tradition with a contemporary approach to cuisine. This cozy establishment, surrounded by picturesque scenery, offers a menu that celebrates local flavors, highlighting fresh and seasonal ingredients, many of which come from nearby producers. Kilden i Skoven<\/strong>, nestled in the heart of Rude Skov<\/em> forest near Copenhagen, is a gastronomic retreat that offers a unique experience in nature. The atmosphere at Kilden i Skoven<\/em> is cozy and rustic, with a design that harmonizes with the natural surroundings, inviting diners to enjoy a meal surrounded by trees and tranquility. S\u00f8ly,<\/strong> a local restaurant in the heart of Vedb\u00e6k<\/em>, is also a community gathering place. The owners, Helle Schweers Lehmann<\/em> and Carl Gustav Lehmann<\/em>, have lived in the area since 2016. They missed a place where they could enjoy high-quality coffee, as they used to do in Copenhagen, so they decided to create their own space that also offers healthy and quality cuisine. The space is beautiful and located right by the beach.<\/p>\n

In short, the coast of Copenhagen is a destination that combines the best of Denmark: history, nature, culture, luxury, and sustainability, all wrapped in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Therefore, the next time you think about a getaway to Copenhagen, don\u2019t forget to look a little further north, where all these hidden gems await you.<\/p>\n
