Let\u2019s go!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Villages and favourite places<\/strong><\/p>\n<h6>Calella de Palafrugell<\/h6>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to its privileged location, this is one of the most beautiful towns on the emblematic Costa Brava. This is where the popular singing of <em>habaneras <\/em>takes place at the beginning of July.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also recommend that you wander around the old part of town and some of its narrow streets, such as Voltes\u00a0and\u00a0Gravina. And that you eat a Crema Catalana flavoured homemade ice cream at <em>Enxaneta<\/em>. At your feet, lies <em>&#8220;Casa Rosa&#8221;<\/em>. There are a few and they are ideal for discovering incredible coves and for enjoying fantastic landscapes. One of them is the footpath that goes from Playa del Canadell\u00a0to the coastal town of Llafranc. You can cover this 1.5 km walk in 20 minutes, more or less.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-57879 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine49.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1431\" height=\"2154\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine49.png 1431w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine49-199x300.png 199w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine49-282x425.png 282w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine49-768x1156.png 768w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine49-1020x1536.png 1020w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine49-1361x2048.png 1361w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1431px) 100vw, 1431px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although we didn\u2019t visit them on this occasion, we would like to recommend the beautiful gardens, Jardines de Cap Roig.\u00a0They are located on one of the most iconic capes on the Catalonian coastline, and they stand out because of the red hues of the rocks and because of the almost 1,000 species from all over the world that live there. It has many charms: on the one hand, its medieval aesthetic, on the other, its colonial history &#8211; there are houses here that were built by the <em>indianos<\/em>, those who returned after having found their wealth in America- and yet another highlight, we should also recall that this town experienced Hollywood\u2019s golden era. In fact, <em>Ava Gardner<\/em>\u00a0was here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This magical town also has coves and beaches that you will fall in love with. They are located just a few kilometres from Begur and they are both picture-postcard villages.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-57897 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine27-e1668707568433.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1430\" height=\"2153\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine27-e1668707568433.png 1430w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine27-e1668707568433-199x300.png 199w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine27-e1668707568433-282x425.png 282w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine27-e1668707568433-768x1156.png 768w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine27-e1668707568433-1020x1536.png 1020w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine27-e1668707568433-1360x2048.png 1360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1430px) 100vw, 1430px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Pals, we would highlight the Torre de les Hores, which is a Romanesque tower built between the 11th and 12th century, its cobblestone streets and the houses with heavy wooden doorways full of plants and flowers. It also has a scenic viewpoint called <em>Mirador de Josep Pla<\/em>, named after one of its illustrious authors, from which you can look out to the Illes Medes (Medes Islands).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pals\u00a0is famous for its rice dishes, but we would go for the artisan pizzas at <em>Grava<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 they\u2019re delicious! \u2013 and its charming open-air setting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peratalladais a medieval village declared Conjunto Hist\u00f3rico (a national heritage designation), which is documented as far back as the 10th century. Along its feudal cobblestone alleys, you arrive at the castle with its tower Torre del Homenaje\u00a0and\u00a0Palacio, and the perfectly preserved wall and even a moat dug out of the rock. It is an ideal spot for a walk, some shopping of traditional food products and artisan craftwork and for eating at any of its lovely and delicious restaurants such as\u00a0L&#8217;Eixida.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-57883 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1434\" height=\"2156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine3.png 1434w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine3-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine3-283x425.png 283w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine3-768x1155.png 768w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine3-1022x1536.png 1022w, https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/CostaBrava_CCmagazine3-1362x2048.png 1362w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1434px) 100vw, 1434px\" \/><\/p>\n<h6>Palau Casavells: a dialogue between contemporary art, antiques and design<\/h6>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This historical 14th century building of almost 3,000m2, that was completely refurbished, is the head office of\u00a0<em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/palaudecasavells.es\/\">Galer\u00eda Miquel Alzueta<\/a><\/u><\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0<em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/side-gallery.com\/\">Side Gallery<\/a><\/u><\/em>\u00a0in the Empord\u00e0 region. It is the ideal setting to exhibit different exponents of contemporary art such as\u00a0<em>Andrea\u00a0Torres<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Marria Pratts<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Laurent Martin Lo<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Guim Ti\u00f3<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Max Cobalto<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Sune Christiansen<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Lidia Masllorens<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Bruno Oll\u00e9<\/em>\u00a0or<em>\u00a0<\/em><em>Xevi<\/em>\u00a0<em>Sol\u00e0<\/em>. This house, or rather this sum of houses that he bought and merged until he achieved what would be his home for so many years, was converted into the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salvador-dali.org\/es\/museos\/casa-salvador-dali-de-portlligat\/\">House Museum<\/a>\u00a0and a visit that is a <em>must<\/em>\u00a0where, of course, there is no shortage of eccentricities: taxidermist pieces, the iconic eggs, swan fountains, the lip-shaped sofa, the <em>Pirelli signs<\/em>, the lovers\u2019 silver heads, etc\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As well as visiting his house, you will discover that the light at Portlligat\u00a0is unique. At\u00a0Begur\u00a0we stayed at\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/es\/la-bionda-el-hotel-de-la-costa-brava-en-el-que-wes-anderson-se-alojaria\/\">La Bionda<\/a><\/em>, that could be the perfect setting for a <em>Wes Anderson\u00a0<\/em>film, and in Cadaqu\u00e9s\u00a0at\u00a0<em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/ccmagazine.es\/es\/casa-nereta-el-hotel-boutique-mas-bonito-y-acogedor-de-cadaques\/\">Casa Nereta<\/a><\/u><\/em>, which is the house of the <em>Joan Pon\u00e7<\/em>, the painter, converted into designer accommodation with lots of charm. We highly recommend them both.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both hotels have very few rooms, their location is excellent, the service offered by both the owners as well as the rest of the staff is sublime, and the decor, although in different styles, is unique and has a lot of personality.
