Casa Nereta<\/a><\/strong>, as you will be able to see in the pictures, is a dream place<\/em>. A house full of charm, converted into an Adults only\u00a0and\u00a0Pet friendly boutique hotel, where we can get away from the madding crowd, from the worries and the stress of the city, where we can reconnect with ourselves and enjoy the beauty of this accommodation, nature and the Mediterranean at our feet.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Its origins<\/h6>\n

This was one of the first houses built in the mountain by the famous Torre de las Creus, a symbol of the village. It belongs to the family of Joan Pon\u00e7<\/em>, and it was there that the painter created most of his work, as did many artists of that time.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It is 5 minutes away from the village and Port Lligat, and its name, Nereta<\/em>, comes from the Catalonian word oreneta\u00a0(which means swallow). Because these beautiful migratory birds are always flying close to the estate.<\/p>\n

The house<\/h6>\n

It has very few rooms (12 in total) and each one is unique.<\/p>\n

Double rooms: <\/strong>They are all different, but they all have a king size bed, a wooden desk, marble bathrooms with a shower, some have views to the patio or the garden, a couple have a balcony and sea views.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Suites:<\/strong>\u00a0They are more spacious and are designed to make our stay even more memorable. They all have king size beds, very comfortable chairs and bigger bathrooms as well as an extra wardrobe. Some overlook the garden, in front of the house or have a bigger balcony.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Terrace Suite: <\/strong>The suite with the terraces is undoubtedly the best of the suites. It is on the first floor and has two different views. The size of the room is similar to that of other suites but this one has a large terrace where to relax, have a refreshing drink and enjoy the shade of our own porch with a chill out area with cushions, a table and a hammock. It also has views to the patio from above.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Nereta’s penthouse:<\/strong>\u00a0This is the stellar spot in the house. The best and largest room in this lovely hotel. It is a penthouse with a large bed of 2m x 2m, chairs, an area with double sofas, a complete kitchenette with a coffee machine, an enormous shower with sea views, an additional water closet, five wardrobes, a laundry area, an eating area with stools, and the largest terrace in Cadaqu\u00e9s with amazing views of the village facing both the sea and the mountain.<\/p>\n

As if this weren\u2019t enough, it has an outdoor area for relaxing and a large table for eating and enjoying the dawns and sunsets of this idyllic setting.<\/p>\n

Naturally, none of the rooms have TV and they all include a bathrobe and slippers, bathroom amenities, free water, a safe, a traditional wicker basket, beach towels and WiFi.<\/p>\n

The communal areas at Casa Nereta\u00a0<\/em>are the beautiful library-living room, the different patios, the bar, Bistro Nereta<\/em>\u00a0and a shop located next to the reception area that has a meticulous mini-selection of items such as Apartamento books<\/em>, Arrels<\/em>\u00a0swimwear or candles by Casa Nereta<\/em>\u00a0with fantastic scents that can be bought as gifts for others, or ourselves.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Design and interior design<\/strong><\/p>\n

The creators of this three-storey beauty are the interior design studio\u00a0Conti, Cert<\/a><\/u><\/em>. They have refurbished it entirely while respecting the original materials and structures of the house. In doing so, they have chosen to recover elements that make up the personality of the house such as the Catalonian laminate floors and the Melis pinewood doors and headboards in the rooms.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Most of the furniture was designed and custom-made by the interior designers such as several white plaster pieces of furniture, or pieces by national brands such as the symbolic lamps by\u00a0Santa & Cole<\/a><\/em>\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0Marset<\/em><\/a>, rugs by Jordi Batlle<\/em>\u00a0from La Bisbal, and iconic chairs by BKF\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Aoo<\/a><\/u><\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

With regards to the green landscape, they relied on garden designer Asilvestrada<\/a><\/em>\u00a0<\/em>to carry out such a difficult task, in an environment of extreme climates: very hot in summer and harsh winters.<\/p>\n

The owners<\/h6>\n

The current owners are\u00a0<\/em>Romy\u00a0<\/em>and her son\u00a0<\/em>James<\/a><\/em>, a great artist and a fantastic host. In her day, it was she who decided to reform the house together with her husband, the son of Joan Pon\u00e7<\/em>.\u00a0Romy<\/em> was mainly in charge of the architecture, in line with the anthroposophical movement concept initiated by the philosopher\u00a0Rudolf Steiner<\/em>, and she combined it with a touch of charisma and architecture from Ibiza, where they both lived for long periods of time in the golden age of the Seventies.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Casa Nereta is for foodies<\/h6>\n

As well as offering delicious breakfasts, they count on\u00a0Bistro Nereta<\/a><\/em>\u00a0for lunches and dinners. Their menu is simple, but their recipes are delicious. They are prepared with locally sourced ingredients, many of them organic and top quality. In fact, they work with such exquisite projects as\u00a0Rooftop Smokehouse<\/a><\/u><\/em>,\u00a0Queser\u00eda Calaveruela<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Horta de Tramuntana<\/em>, among others.<\/p>\n

They also have a 24-hour honesty bar<\/em>. During the day, they offer a bar service for the clients, and at night they invite you to help yourself, with a fun menu of their favourite teas from Sans & Sans<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0Caf\u00e9s Nespresso<\/em>, some well-chosen snacks, drinks, fresh locally produced juices and wines. Practically all of them are natural and many of them are by\u00a0Rafa<\/em>\u00a0from\u00a0La Natural Wine<\/a><\/u><\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The truth is you can tell this project is passionate and family-run, as they take great care of the details. The service and the customer care are excellent. They are all charming and they manage to make you feel better than you do at home.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A very welcoming and evocative atmosphere<\/h6>\n

Casa Nereta<\/em>\u00a0has many features that make it special and unbeatable: from its location right in the centre of Cadaqu\u00e9s, but without bars or restaurants around it, to the incredible golden light that bathes the different rooms or its selection of artwork, books, national design pieces and memoirs of the owners\u2019 travels that make up a relaxed and balanced Mediterranean atmosphere, even the music that is played in the communal areas \u2013 we warn you that you will Shazam on more than one occasion-. Everything fits and flows in perfect harmony.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Additionally, the fact that this place was the home of a great artist for years, gives it a halo that is difficult to describe, but that you can sense the moment you cross the threshold.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We will say no more, we cannot but strongly recommend that you discover it. For us,\u00a0Casa Nereta<\/em>\u00a0is already a part of our favourite accommodations to visit frequently.<\/p>\n
