At Chandigarh Caf\u00e9<\/em>, there is a real feeling of home. Not only because of the d\u00e9cor and its characteristic colour palette but thanks to the pleasant ambience and the positive atmosphere that this spot generates.<\/p>\n

The French chef Herv\u00e9 Escobar is in charge of the hobs<\/h6>\n

The captain of the Chandigarh Caf\u00e9 <\/em>is the chef Herv\u00e9 Escobar<\/em>, who has many years\u2019 experience working in the three Michelin star restaurant Epicure<\/em> at the Hotel Le Bristol<\/em> in Paris. That\u2019s why his menu includes Mediterranean recipes with allusions to his homeland\u2019s cuisine. That is, vegetarian recipes, pastas, pizzetas, meat and fish dishes with his particular touch.<\/p>\n

Among the assorted variety of starters, the campagne terrine, the tarama made with an emulsion of mackerel roe and the woodstove-roasted aubergine with samfaina sauce and yoghurt are remarkable.<\/p>\n

In the meat and fish section, the duck confit with cipolloni onion and tomato confit, and the perfectly panko-breaded Colbert hake with tartare sauce are outstanding.<\/p>\n

Their woodstove-made pizzas are delicious, and a good example is the mushroom carpaccio, egg yolk and scamorza pizza. The truth is there is something for everyone.<\/p>\n

And for dessert? You cannot leave without trying one of their sweet bites because they are a fantasy. From the Eton mess, a crunchy meringue with strawberries from the Maresme and olive oil, to the salted caramel chocolate mousse with 70% cocoa Cuban chocolate or the floating island with cr\u00e8me anglaise and toasted almonds. Sublime!<\/p>\n

Green, light and colour are the real stars of the interior design<\/h6>\n

Chandigarh Caf\u00e9 <\/em>is unlike any other restaurant in the Ciudad Condal, and that\u2019s why it leaves no one indifferent. Because as we told you at the start, its lush terrace garden full of trees and plants such as banana trees, yuccas, magnolia trees and holm oaks will make you disconnect completely from the city and make you more receptive to everything this spot has to offer.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The inside of the restaurant exudes natural light and its colours make it remarkable: toasted orange, pink blush and spring green and the pink marble bar that separates the room from a wide and rose-colored kitchen.<\/p>\n

Inevitably, they have chosen Fifties\u2019 style lamps, colourful rugs, Chandigarh <\/em>chairs designed by Pierre Jeanneret <\/em>– a cousin and collaborator of Le Corbusier –<\/em> and tables of different heights and comfortable sofas on which to enjoy a good after-dinner conversation, at midday or in the evening.<\/p>\n

Three partners with experience in the hospitality sector<\/h6>\n

Following the success of one of our favourite restaurants in Barcelona: Les Filles <\/em>(C\/ Minerva 2), Paula Ospina <\/em>has decided to take on this new project, together with Beatriz Mas<\/em> and Tom\u00e1s Tarruella junior<\/em>, the son of a well-known restaurateur of the same name (The Tragaluz Group\/ En Compa\u00f1\u00eda de Lobos)<\/em>. Together, they are an unbeatable team, with a lot of experience and a great instinct for creating and generating unique gastronomical experiences.<\/p>\n
