Many of you already know that we are big fans of this city. And not only because we lived there for a while but also because it\u2019s a beautiful city.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s why we are going to give you some tips and reasons why you have to go to and enjoy Brighton:<\/p>\n
This small town of 155,000 inhabitants has everything and when we say everything we mean that it even has a beach. Ok, so it\u2019s a pebble beach without sand but it\u2019s still beautiful. And although the water is freezing, it\u2019s the perfect place to get away, to look out to sea while you enjoy an improvised picnic of fish & chips and a beer.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s also worth it to go to the\u00a0Artists\u2019 Quarter<\/em>, which is made up of old fishermen\u2019s\u2019 houses converted into studios for local artists who sell their paintings, sculptures and craftworks, many of which are limited edition. It\u2019s on the main beachfront.<\/p>\n One pier is the antithesis of others. Basically because the\u00a0West Pier\u00a0<\/em>was burnt down\u00a0<\/em>and all that\u2019s left are the remnants as a testimony\u00a0of two fires that destroyed this pier in 2003 but not less so, full of beauty, because the\u00a0Brighton Pier<\/em>\u00a0is a space dedicated to entertainment. You can find fairground attractions here, a space for games, food posts and restaurants as well as incredible views.<\/p>\n On both \u2013 depending on the day, the starlings usually dance as you\u2019ve never seen. We were lucky enough to see them and it was magic. A spectacle like no other!<\/p>\n It\u2019s not just any old cinema as there are sofas in the upper part just like those at home from where you can enjoy its\u00a0escogid\u00edsima\u00a0selection of films. They have ecological popcorn and you can even have a glass of wine in a wine glass.<\/p>\n You\u2019ll be surprised by the ladies\u2019 legs covered in black and white striped tights in the terrace. If it\u2019s sunny it\u2019s worth having a drink there, as it\u2019s a very\u00a0nice\u00a0place to spend time.<\/p>\n Brighton doesn\u2019t fall short of London. There are a lot of artists that live there like\u00a0Nick Cave\u00a0<\/em>as well, and the music scene is vibrant. There are concerts every day with\u00a0fantastic\u00a0groups.<\/p>\n At the\u00a0Brighton Dome<\/em>, which is considered to be the city\u2019s cultural centre, dance shows, theatre, concerts etc. take place\u2026<\/p>\n We are not going to lie to you; Brighton is a little expensive. There\u2019s a lot on offer but value for money is not always balanced.<\/p>\n Anyway, we eat incredibly every time we go there. In fact, these are our recommendations:<\/p>\n Terre \u00e0 Terre:\u00a0<\/strong>Delicious vegetarian cuisine which is plentiful and original. It\u2019s one of the classics and is recommended by the Michelin Guide.<\/p>\n Bill’s:\u00a0<\/strong>ideal if you\u00a0want to enjoy an\u00a0English Breakfast<\/em>.<\/p>\n Silo Market:\u00a0<\/strong>the first restaurant with zero residual products in the UK. It\u2019s a little expensive but it\u2019s well worth the experience.\u00a0Exquisite food in an unforgettable location.<\/p>\n Riddle&Finns:\u00a0<\/strong>a small, unpretentious place, specializing in oysters and champagne which draws people in because of its warm atmosphere. It only has eight tall marble tables lit by candles where you can sample a fresh fish or seafood menu. They don’t accept reservations so it\u2019s first come first served and you may well share a table.<\/p>\n The Set:\u00a0<\/strong>one of The Artist Residence<\/em>\u2019s restaurants. As much the location as the food and the service and presentation are excellent.\u00a0The hotel\u2019s cellar also has a ping pong table.<\/p>\n Bincho Yakitori:<\/strong>\u00a0Our personal favourite! Asian street food scores a 10! The place is small but their dishes are\u00a0grandiose\u00a0both in quality and flavour.<\/p>\n Chili Pickle:\u00a0<\/strong>an Indian restaurant that creates a fusion between the passion of their English owners and the Indian cuisine. Their dishes are an explosion of colours and flavours taking you on a journey of the rich cuisine of the different regions of the country such as the curry from Goa, Mumbai Indian restaurant, which creates a fusion of the passion the English owners have for Indian cuisine and India itself.\u00a0Their dishes are a splash of colours and surprises, which draw you closer to the rich gastronomy of the various Indian regions with the Goa region,\u00a0paos\u00a0and masala\u00a0dosas.<\/p>\n The Lion and Lobster:\u00a0<\/strong>ideal to enjoy the\u00a0Sunday Roast<\/em>,\u00a0a roast made of (beef, pork, lamb or chicken) with potatoes and vegetables.<\/p>\n Food for Friends:<\/strong>\u00a0this award-winning vegetarian Brighton restaurant located in the historical South Lanes. Their cooking is tasty above all as well as affordable and honest. They use fresh produce to make their homemade dishes whose ingredients are produced by local\u00a0suppliers\/farmers\u00a0wherever possible. The place is super cosy with excellent service.<\/p>\n There are many, but\u00a0Snooper\u2019s Paradise<\/em>\u00a0(7\/8 Kensington Gardens), has two floors of vintage shops where you can find anything.<\/p>\n We also recommend Wolf & Gypsy Vintage\u00a0<\/em>(30 Sydney St),\u00a0Beyond Retro Brighton\u00a0<\/em>(42 Vine St),\u00a0Pretty Eccentric\u00a0<\/em>(10 Bond St) and\u00a0PDSA<\/em>\u00a0(12 Oxford St).<\/p>\n This neighbourhood is next to the train station and has over 200 shops and 30 independent caf\u00e9s. It reminds us of Camden Town\u00a0<\/em>in London, but it is a fair amount smaller. It also has vintage and retro clothes shops like To be worn again\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Dirty Harry<\/em>, where you can buy items from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.<\/p>\n Here we can see\u00a0street art<\/em>\u00a0in its purest form. The most popular one takes up a whole wall of the\u00a0Prince Albert\u00a0pub\u00a0<\/em>(Trafalgar Street) which pays homage to the music of artists like\u00a0Elton John<\/em>,\u00a0Michael Jackson and<\/em>\u00a0Bob Marley<\/em>, among others. This mural shares space with a piece of work by Banksy called\u00a0\u2018Kissing Coppers\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n This area is mythical. Its winding streets and cobbled streets are characteristic and full of clothes, bars, restaurants and jewellery shops. It\u2019s very interesting but not apt for all budgets.<\/p>\n From the outside, it looks like an Indian palace with white domes that remind us of the\u00a0Taj Mahal<\/em>, and inside the style is more Chinese with dragons, lotus flowers and bamboo shoots decorating the rooms. It\u2019s worth it to find out about the history of this building linked to King George IV:\u00a0who was the Prince of Wales and suffered from Gout. Doctors recommended that he move to Brighton and he liked the city so much that he decided to stay there, but not under just any circumstances. He was a great fan of architecture and the Orient so he ordered the great Hindu palace to be built full of furniture imported from China.<\/p>\n Its gardens are spectacular! Above all on sunny days.<\/p>\n The\u00a0boom\u00a0<\/em>for beer is a reality. This means that the city is full of establishments that brew their own beer like\u00a0Hand in Hand<\/em>, which also offers over 40 types of beer, between bottles and tapped beer or\u00a0Brewdog\u00a0<\/em>which stands out for its artisan beers and modern style.<\/em><\/p>\n It\u2019s a moving tower with the highest views in the world! From the top you can enjoy 360 degree panoramic views from an 18 diametrical metre cable structure. It\u2019s really worth it.<\/p>\n The tower was conceptualized and designed by\u00a0Marks Barfield Architect<\/em>s, who also created the famous\u00a0London Eye<\/em>\u00a0which can transport 200 passengers on each of its \u201ctrips\u201d.<\/p>\n Each journey, which costs 13.50 pounds (16 \u20ac) for adults and 6.75 pounds (8 \u20ac) for children and which is free for children under 4 years old, lasts 20 minutes during the day and half an hour after 17.00 GMT.<\/p>\n Feel like living all these experiences up close?
